The changing face India has brought before us umpteen challenges., Being with the ones on the periphery and trying to accompany them on their journey, there are new situations that invite us to become relevant to our times.
Unemployment rate is high, skilled youth are in abundance, demands don't match the supply. While we grapple with this reality, attraction to the glamorous world, fast, quick money lures them from concentrating on any of their dreams.
What we witness is young people hanging around aimless, idle minds, idle hands find them crushed under peer group demands. What we find common is syringes and needles on heaps around, drugs like smack, ganja, and solutions found in abundance. Once they get addicted to this, they to any extent to get money. The new way is games on the mobile, they win, they lose and so the game goes on.

The other issue is of elopement; the mobile smart phone has become an unnecessary evil...every week we come across this story. Disappearance of children and women are on the rise. Our visits to the settlements, sewing centers unfold stories that emphasize the vulnerable times we live in.
Awareness programs are being organized, the challenge is to get the youth. They are in their own world, they have a whole lot of dreams, desires, they lack perseverance, patience, discipline .
Formation of Vigilant committees - getting the young, the parents to be part of the committee. Become the watchdog of the community...

Creating space and providing a platform for the youth to come forward and share their stories.
Screening videos, so that they can see, hear feel and be touched. Offering them ways to be safe and to break the silence.

It's not easy as we are inviting them to a new realm of life. On the other hand an invitation to come to different settlements is on the rise.
