In Solidarity with the True Builders of Bihar!

Worker’s Day was celebrated focusing on the problems of construction workers on the occasion of International Labor Day was organized at Panchmukhi Mandir, Boring Canal Road, Mazdoor Adda under the banner of Aashray Abhiyan. The workshop was chaired by Director cum Secretary of Aashray Abhiyan, Dorothy Fernandes. Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Dr. Sanjay Paswan was present as the chief guest in the workshop.

While chairing the program, Dorothy Fernandes said that it was only during the rule of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that the construction workers were registered for the first time by the Labour Resources Department and after that the workers started getting the benefits of grant amount, marriage scheme, post-death amount etc. It felt very good that the construction workers started getting the benefits of the scheme.

Labour Day Function

Ms. Fernandes said that the portal of the Labour Resources Department is closed right now, many schemes are in the booklet of the Labour Resources Department but have never been seen on the ground like social security pension, building repair, dress scheme, scholarship scheme for the children of

workers, education / financial assistance scheme etc. Construction workers never got the benefit of this scheme.

President of the workshop program as the chief guest, former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Dr. Sanjay Paswan said that in today's workshop organized by Aashray Abhiyan, we have come face to face with the problems of construction workers that the construction workers are not getting the benefits of many schemes and there are 4 point demands for the benefit of construction workers - on which I will try my best to get it fulfilled by meeting the top officials of the Labor Resources Department. I will also inform the Honorable Chief Minister of the state of Bihar about this.

Further Dr. Paswan said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is determined to work in the interest of workers.

The real Builders of Bihar

General Secretary of Aashray Mehnatkash Mazdoor Kamgar Union Sangh, Ranjit Kumar read the memorandum in the interest of construction workers and placed the 4 point demand before the chief guest, former Union Minister Dr. Sanjay Paswan. The demands are:

1. Like MNREGA to ensure 200 days guarantee for work.

2. Through NULM scheme to construct shelters for construction workers with basic amenities.

3. Grant 3 decimal land to the landless construction workers.

4. Those workers who have been registered in the Labor department of the Govt of Bihar be ensured of the benefits according to their date of registration.

The memorandum was presented to the former Union Minister Dr. Sanjay Paswan.

The program was addressed by many people including Dilip Patel, Arun Kumar Mehta, Sudarshan Kumar, Dharmendra Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Shyam Prasad, Pappu Ram, Bhikhri Tanti, Rakesh Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Bablu Das, Urmila Devi, Minta Devi, Yogendra Pandit, Lakshmi Chauhan, Kabutri Devi, Moni Devi, Urmila devi, Anil Kumar.
