The 26th of November is regarded as Indian Constitution Day. We mark the day when our Constitution came into force, the guiding principle of our Great Indian Democracy, which says that every citizen of India has the same unalienable rights, no matter if they are rich, poor, man, woman, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Christian, Atheist, Bengali or Bihari.
Our Constitution governs the laws of this land and makes us the secular, socialist, democratic, republic we are proud of.

So naturally, our project staff, team members and well wishers made it to our small office to renew the pledge and read the preamble of our constitution, pledging to protect it.
Our team members went out to remind our focus communities of their duty as citizens and their pledge to protect the Constitution.

In Daudpur-Masurhi, team members held an awareness session with the children of unorganised workers. Social worker Khushbu Rani and educationalist Santosh Kumar took pert in the event. They told the children about the importance of the Constitution, and the children took a pledge.

The program was conducted by team member Dharmendra ji, and concluded with the children resolving to study and do their homework every day. They were given pens and some biscuits to keep up their spirits!
